“Each dot is linked to a thought, an intention, a breath, a prayer, a wish, a moment, a commitment, a larger system, a step into the unknown, a risk, an effort, a giving over, a communion.” – Alex Hirsch

Join us in the Menashe Gallery for an informal talk by exhibiting artist, Alex Hirsch. Light refreshments will be provided.

In describing her artistic practice Hirsch says, “My body of work utters complex tensions between darkness and light, singularity and multiplicity, solemnity and levity.” Her evocative artwork also draws on life practices in dance and meditation. This artist talk is hosted in conjunction with Meditations on Equilibrium: Works in Glass and Paper by Alex Hirsch on exhibit at the Oregon Jewish Museum in the Menashe Gallery from October 9, 2013 to January 5, 2014.
