Mah-jongg has been part of American life since the 1920s, but how did a game from China become a notable feature of Jewish American culture? Join us as curator Melissa Martens Yaverbaum interviews Annelise Heinz, the author of Mahjong: A Chinese Game and the Making of Modern American Culture. Together they’ll explore the Jewish American roots of the game, as well as its complicated and unpredictable journey. Register early and submit a question – a few lucky entries will earn a cameo spot to pose their question as part of the program.
