April 13-14, 2026
At a time when the lessons of history feel especially urgent, the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education invite you to join Portland’s Jewish community in reflection and shared responsibility.
Yom HaShoah Memorial Service
April 13 | 6:00pm | Congregation Beth Israel
Together we gather in memory, prayer, and reflection at Congregation Beth Israel, with participation from the Oregon Board of Rabbis, Holocaust survivors, and their descendants.
Reading of the Names
April 14 | 10am – 5pm | Pioneer Courthouse Square
Each year on Yom HaShoah, communities around the world honor Holocaust victims through the Reading of the Names, a public recitation of the names, ages, and birthplaces of those murdered. In Pioneer Courthouse Square, select community members and elected officials read throughout the day, honoring the lives and stories that must never be forgotten. Guests are welcome to come and go at any point during the day-long reading.
